New Requirements for NYC Marathon

Wow, they changed the marathon requirements. So now, instead of just doing the pre-requisite 9 races to get guaranteed entry, you must volunteer for a race as well. Actually, it's a good thing! I always appreciated the people who passed out water, lined us up, etc.

I think more races should do this. Working on the other side really gives one an appreciation for volunteers and their hard work.

I love the new look of your blog!

I like that rule. I finally volunteered for one and boy did it change my views! :)

Volunteering for races is fun, but it can be cold! It's interesting to experience first hand all the different methods of taking water, from the sudden snatchers to the throttle it down to a walk dawdlers.

Lisa - I finally signed up for a marathon. Thank you for the inspiration! I'll be running the Chicago Marathon this year...

I have a friend that volunteered for a half that I ran in. He was much more sore than I was. He got finish line duty removing chips from shoes! He did say that he would do it again!

Hey Lisa, if you get a chance, will you stop by my blog and vote for me? I've entered a sponsorship contest and voting ends Fri, 3/21 11:59PM Pacific. Thanks!!!
