So scratching off the first 5 weeks of this training schedule, I did the required 4 miles yesterday. Good news? I did it. Bad news? I did something. My knees hurt. Not the usual hurt, but a "clicking-while-walking-up-and-down-the-stairs" hurt. My left knee isn't too bad. But my right knee. There's this sharp pain inside in the middle of my knee cap... Chris is telling me I need to get knee braces...

I think my old sneakers are kaput, causing this misalignment or something. So I splurged on a brand new pair of custom colored kicks:


And while I was there, I splurged on another gadget:


I wasn't going to buy the Sports Band, but I figured since I was in the market for a watch that kept my pace, that this is the way to go. To be honest, I got this because I have no idea how to read those watches, and this seems idiot proof!

Today was supposed to be a 40 minute tempo run, but I'll hold off until tomorrow to give my knees a breather.
